New points in character building through the novels halfway spring (Khai Hung) and doan (Nhat Linh)

Abstract

With historical methods, synthetic analysis, comparison and manipulations to prove, analyze, comment, etc., the article provides new points about character building in Nua chung xuan (Khai Hung) and Doan tuyet (Nhat Linh). In particular, the character with the ideology of free love, the character against the feudal cult is focused and analyzed to clarify the innovations in character building that the two writers bring. Through the research topic, the article also acknowledges the contributions of Tu luc van doan group in general and two writers in particular in the process of modernizing Vietnamese literature in the period 1930 - 1945.
