Some thoughts contributing to solving the problem of attracting foreign investment (FDI) to industrial zones in Long An province

Abstract

Located at the intersection of the Mekong Delta region and the Southeastern region of Vietnam, as one of the provinces participating in all three economic regions: the Southern Key Economic Region, the Mekong Delta, and the planning orientation of the Vietnam-Cambodia border economic zone, along with many other comparative advantages, Long An has favorable conditions for industrial and agricultural development, especially in high-tech agriculture, and logistic services through the Long An International Port, one of the largest seaports in the South. Despite its potential and comparative advantages, attracting foreign investment to the province has not matched its existing potential and position. Therefore, addressing the issue of attracting foreign investment in the province has become one of the most urgent matters, drawing the attention of the Party, the Long An provincial government, and the scientific community both inside and outside the province. In this article, the author will assess the current situation of attracting foreign investment in the province in recent times and provide suggestions to contribute to solving the problem of attracting investment in the province in the future.
